Hopalong Cassidy

Hopalong Cassidy was a western that would rank right up there with the likes of The Roy Rogers Show or Gene Autry’s Melody Ranch. Hoppy was a true hero, described by one radio historian as, “a knight of the range, a man of morals.” He and his sidekick, California Carlson, roamed the Southwest rescuing damsels-in-distress and others in need, always battling the bad guys and fighting for what was right. Affectionately known as “Hoppy”, he became a hero in black, on a white horse – a super hero of the West. The Hopalong Cassidy radio program was based on the popular movie and television series featuring William Boyd as Hopalong Cassidy, and ran from 1948 to 1952. The radio show featured many new adventures, as well as adaptations of the popular movies and some of the TV episodes.
