The Adventures of Jerry Muskrat is another interesting book by the famed conservationist Thornton W. Burgess, expertly woven with true-to-life animal antics and habits. The adventure starts out with Jerry Muskrat, against the advice of his mother and friends, getting caught in a trap. Jerry’s mother calls a meeting to try to figure out how to end the problem of traps in the forest. The big problem of the day, however, begins when the water stops flowing in the Laughing Brook and the Smiling Pool, and Jerry Muskrat and his friends are naturally worried about what to do. Children will love finding out how Jerry, Little Joe Otter, Billy Mink, and others team up to solve the dilemma and save the day.
